Gender-responsive budgeting and Climate finance tracking at the local level

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia
UN Woman, 2022 - 2023

UN Women considers climate action as an important potential accelerator of gender equality and empowerment and in turn believes that more systematic involvement of women in both planning and implementation of climate action can significantly contribute to the achieving of ambitious targets.

Over the course of 2021, UN Women has developed the Methodology for combining gender responsive budgeting (GRB) and climate finance tracking, conducted a study and piloted the tracking of financial flows targeting gender and climate in selected ministries in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

The objective of the project is to increase the capacities of different stakeholders in the application of developed Methodology for combining GRB and climate finance tracking and increase the capacities of partners to develop new initiatives or pilot innovative solutions that combine both GRB and climate finance tracking at the local level.
