On behalf of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized workshops entitled: Sustainable Financing Mechanisms for Energy Efficiency through Public-Private Partnerships and Energy Services Companies (ESCO). GFA South East Europe supported the workshops by providing insight into the previous experiences in preparing the legal framework and pilot ESCO projects. The workshops were held in November 2023 in four cities in Serbia: Kruševac, Beograd, Valjevo and Subotica.

The participants, including representatives from industry and local self-governments, were introduced to Serbian and EU energy efficiency policies and energy services as a tool for implementing energy efficiency investments.  The training provided a detailed explanation of the concept and legal framework for PPP and energy services, as well as the steps for project preparation and implementation.

Representatives from ESCO companies Resalta and Negawatt Solutions presented good practice examples from the public sector and industry. The lecturers were Antonela Solujić, Senior Advisor in the Association of Energy and Mining and Ljubinko Savic, Secretary of the Association of Energy and Mining at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Radomir Milovanovic, Project Manager in UNDP and Zoran Kapor, Director of GFA South East Europe d.o.o..
